Introduction

My name is Robin D`Angelo Herndon, and I am a senior at USM. Currently
I am working on obtaining a dual major in elementary/special education. I am a mother of four sons, and a grandmother of three grandsons. I feel like I have been going to college forever, but I am in the home stretch now. I finally have my gold card, which I take great pride in, because it was really hard passing the timed praxis test. All said and done that's behind me; yeah! KEEP MOVING FORWARD~

This is the third computer class I have taken along my academic journey, but I have gained most of my experience figuring things out for myself taking online classes. I would really love to become very skilled at using a computer and I hope to learn a whole lot in this class. I want my classroom to reflect a technology teaching classroom. I want to be able to give my the best and exciting education. My biggest goal as a teacher, is I want my students to look forward coming to my class. That is when I know I have earn the right to called "Teacher."

As a new coming teaching, I believe the purpose of education is to help students develop skills essential to reach their fullest potential. Knowledge is only profitable if students retain what they learn, and can apply it to the real world. Every day presents new challenges in helping students understand the importance of learning. As a teacher it is my goal to ensure that what is learned will be useful to them in their everyday life. In my classroom students are treated as individuals who have something to offer to the classroom, and to the world. My instruction is based on guiding students to learn to use their own critically thinking skills in problem solving, and giving lecture are short, and to the point. I love to engage in open conversations and believe school is not entirely academic, but an environment where social behaviors are form and developed. I view my classroom as an opportunity for students to learn appropriate social skills needed to communicate effectively and work well with others in groups. My classroom is a place where students feel safe to be different and honest. When a student is fearful of learning, my desire is turn their fear into having fun. I feel when a student raises their hand; it symbolizes their effort to reach for the stars.
