Classroom Websites

Classroom websites is way for a teacher to give parents and students access to course information, helpful links, supply lists, classroom rules and so many other things. The classroom website is also offers a way for the teacher and parents to communicate. This is a tool that every teacher needs to take advantage of, and for me personally, I think it could only help me be a better teacher.

Teachers can use Classroom Websites to create a volunteer list for classroom volunteers and field trips. Creating a wish list on the website is another great thing to have for upcoming projects and classroom parties. Providing monthly or weekly calendars on the website can include; homework assignments to help parents in knowing what their child needs to have done for the next day, and a weekly spelling words list.

In this digital age, a teacher needs to take the time to create this kind of site to offer parents and students. The more parents become involved in their children’s education the more support children can receive.

The NETS-T standard #3 states that: "Modeling digital age work and learning. Teachers exhibit knowledge, skills, and work processes representative of an innovative professional in a global and digital society. Teachers collaborate with students, peers, parents, and community members using digital tools and resources to support student success and innovation."

Here is example of a classroom website that I created:
